Italy has recorded a record number of cured patients and a significant drop in new covid-19 cases
The European country has seen a drop in the number of new cases of Covid-19 contagion, as well as a record number of patients recovered since the pandemic was issued, although another 812 deaths have been added.
According to the reviews offered by the head of Civil Protection, Angelo Borrelli, in the last 24 hours there have been 1,648 new cases, which raises the total figure to 101,739. It should be noted that the data is almost half the one settled on Sunday, with 3,815 new contagions, and corroborates the downward trend that began last week.
As for the number of deaths in recent days, it has been total to 11,591. Today there are 43,752 infected people in quarantine in their homes, 27,795 hospitalized and 3,981 in intensive care, the latter that has increased by only 75 people in recent days.
Senior Health Council (CSS) Chairman Franco Locatelli has defined that “the number of those who have to be hospitalized in the ICU is not as high as last week”.
Borrelli and Locatelli have been cautious about the declaration of this data and have said that it is necessary not to “let your guard down” and strictly respect the restriction measures taken, even if it means continuing to make “sacrifices”.
Lombardy, for its part, remains the most affected region, the news that comes from there equally is positive. According to the Welfare Advisor, in the last 24 hours there have been 458 deaths and 1,154 contagions bringing the total to 6,818 and 42,161 respectively.
