In the desperate struggle in the face of the situation inside the hospital, some doctors began asking God for help.
This is the atheist doctor, Dr. Julian Urban of Italy, who realized the need to start asking God for help amid the pandemic that hit his country while on duty.
The 38-year-old health care professional is serving in a hospital in Lombardy, Italy. Dr. Urban reported what they observed inside the hospital while battling coronavirus.
He said: “Never, in my darkest nightmares, imagined seeing and experiencing what has been happening in Italy in our hospital for the past three weeks. The nightmare flows and the river gets bigger and bigger.”
Later, Julian recounted how some patients suddenly became hundreds.
“Now, we are no longer doctors, but classifiers who decide who should live and who should be sent home to die, although all these patients have paid Italian health taxes all their lives,” he says.
In the midst of this unlikely situation inside the hospital, some doctors came to know God.
“Until two weeks ago, my colleagues and I were athes. It was normal because we’re doctors. We learned that science excludes God’s presence,” the doctor explains.
He witnessed how he mocked his parents who went to church in the past. And how he changed after meeting a pastor who entered the hospital.
“Nine days ago, a 75-year-old pastor was admitted to the hospital. He was a kind man. I had severe breathing problems,” Urban said.
“He had a Bible and impressed us as he read to the dying as they held his hand. All the doctors were tired, discouraged, psychologically and physically terminated. When we had time, we heard it,” he says.
The doctor then indicated that the 75-year-old pastor died.
He managed, despite his condition and our difficulties, to bring us a peace that we did not expect to find,” he testifies.
But despite the threat to his health, dr. expressed his gratitude for having found God again.
