After mocking God, the president of the Philippines has admitted that he needs God to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The president has recognized that perseverance in God is needed to overcome the pandemic, while urging everyone to persevere in the Lord.
“God is wise We will not be neglected, especially if we are Filipinos, we are Christians,” the president said in the report on the nation’s COVID-19 cases.
“The important thing here is perseverance. You must persevere during this time,” he added.
At the same time, he noted that he is uneasy about all the restrictions that are being placed on him because of the many contagions in the region.
“I want to open the door, if it weren’t for science. Apart from the voluminous paperwork, I’m useless, I can’t do anything,” he said.
But during his speech he said that “dealing with the pandemic is like when Jesus suffered carrying the cross.
“Let us sacrifice, after all, our idol, beaten, even crucified. Let’s go to church. Dedicate your sacrifices to the Lord, dedicate the sacrifice for the country,” the president said.
The leader recognizes that in the face of this reality the only one who can provide a solution to this situation is God.
President Rodrigo Duterte, who once called God “stupid,” turned to God and likened the hardships of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic to the suffering of Jesus Christ on his way to the cross.
