A Brazilian theologian now said that his country’s president had characteristics of the Antichrist.
According to Gospel Mais, Leonarod Boff is one of the forerunners of liberation theology and a key figure in the founding movement of the Workers’ Party.
Boff made a number of statements about his nation’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, which have attracted the attention of many people.
“The country is ruled by someone who has the characteristics of the antichrist, a spirit that is the enemy of life, the enemy of all that is good,” the theologian said.
During an interview for Tutaméia’s website, Boff the leftist detailed that “the Scripture, when it speaks of the enemy of life, uses the name of the Messiah to attack, lie, and deceive his people, says that this is the antichrist.
Because of his middle name
It is already known that the official and baptismal name of the president of Brazil is Jair Messias Bolsonaro.
Because it bears that name, it has even been used by many to relate the predominant politician to the “man of iniquity” described by the Apostle Paul in his second letter to the Thessalonians.
On the other hand, there was news of an initiative founded by bishops of the Catholic Church to disregard the image of the president.
It is estimated that this “movement” was instituted by at least 152 religious bishops. And Boff showed his approval of this initiative.
“They are taking up this prophetic tradition of the Church in the name of what is specific to the tradition of Jesus, in the name of defending life. They speak the religious dialect, but it is a political document, which sees life in its totality, the common good of human beings,” the theologian concluded.
